This is a response I wrote to a Tulsa World editorial regarding the constitutionality of the “no pay, no play” statute I have been dealing with in a case. I’d like to thank the Tulsa World for allowing a response. Another newspaper in Oklahoma did a highly biased editorial and would not allow an adequate response.
Recently the Tulsa World wrote an editorial about a case I handled. The Oklahoma Supreme Court struck down a law which has been dubbed the “no pay no play” law for the reason that it violated the Oklahoma Constitution. The Tulsa World took the position that the underlying law was good policy. In my view the Tulsa World is wrong and here’s why;
